About Explore Parma
An independent guide to Parma that prints the price, the date it was read and the source.
Explore Parma covers the city of Parma, the castles and towns of the old Duchy and the Food Valley around them, in English. It is independent: no museum, hotel, restaurant, dairy or tour operator pays to appear on it or reviews what we write.
It is not the official tourism site of the city of Parma or of any public body, and it is not connected to the Comune di Parma, the region or any consortium. For official visitor information, the city's tourist office is at Strada Garibaldi 18.
What makes it different
Brochures describe; we price. Our pages quote what the official sites showed on the date we checked, and keep the date beside the number. When a room is closed for restoration or a painting is on loan, we say so at the top. When a dairy you can book yourself costs a fraction of a tour, we say that too. When nobody publishes a figure, the page says so rather than guessing.
How the site earns money
