Where we would eat in Parma

15 recommended, 1 skip From €10 tortelli to €180 menus 4 Bib Gourmand, 2 starred

This list agrees with every restaurant verdict on this site, because it is built from them. Each place below has its own page with the menu prices we could read on September 29, 2026, its closing day and a plain verdict. Fifteen are worth booking, some only under conditions we spell out. One, on the best square in town, is not.

Three things to know before you book anything in Parma. Kitchens close early at lunch, often by 2:30 p.m., and open for dinner at 7:30 or 8 p.m. Most trattorie close one or two weekdays, and none of the places we checked publishes its August holiday dates. And several of the best-loved kitchens publish no prices at all, so where we give a figure it is either from the menu or clearly labeled as an average from TheFork.

For a special occasion

Antica Corte Pallavicina at Polesine Parmense, 41 km (25 miles) from Parma, holds one Michelin star and is where we would spend the money: a €150 tasting menu built on its own culatello, from cellars it dates to 1320. If that is too much, the estate's Hosteria del Maiale serves a culatello board for €18 and pasta for €12, every day. The starred room is closed all day Monday and at lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Inkiostro, the only starred table in the city, is a conditional yes: menus of four, six and seven courses cost €130, €155 and €180, and the cooking is internationally minded. If your trip is about Parma's own food, the same money buys the culatello menu on the Po or four trattoria dinners. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Parizzi lost its star and says it has left fine dining; its €55 Parma menu is a fair middle way, not a celebration.

By occasion

  • Your first dinner: Trattoria del Tribunale for anolini and a cured-meat board.
  • Lunch between sights: Osteria dei Mascalzoni, 3 minutes from Piazza Garibaldi.
  • After 2:30 p.m., or on a Monday night: Trattoria dei Corrieri, open noon to midnight every day.
  • A dish you will not find elsewhere: Brisla's bomba di riso; order it as you sit down, it takes 25 minutes.
  • With a car: Ai Due Platani, Antichi Sapori and I Tri Siochètt, three Bib Gourmand trattorie within 15 minutes of the center.
  • A winter Sunday: Cocchi's bollito trolley, September to April.
  • Culatello at the source: Antica Corte Pallavicina or Al Vèdel. Our culatello price verdict explains the premium.
  • Horse: pesto di cavallo at Tribunale (€12) or Brisla's carpaccio (€16).
  • Vegetarians: Osteria dei Mascalzoni has the widest meat-free choice; tortelli d'erbetta are everywhere.

The one we would skip: Angiol d'Or

Angiol d'Or faces the Duomo and the Baptistery from Vicolo Scutellari 1, and the view is real. The food is priced for it. Anolini are €18 there against €13 at Tribunale and €14 at Brisla and Ai Due Platani, secondi run €20 to €24, and the Michelin Guide does not list it. The only case for booking is a summer dinner at a table out on the piazza. For everything else, walk 10 minutes and eat better for less.

How this list was made

Every restaurant here has a full page on this site, written from its own menu, the Michelin Guide Italia 2026 and, where a kitchen publishes nothing, TheFork's average spend. We did not include places we could not confirm were open in 2026. Michelin's 2026 guide gives the province two stars, Inkiostro and Antica Corte Pallavicina, and Bib Gourmands to Brisla, I Tri Siochètt, Ai Due Platani and Antichi Sapori. No reviews or ratings here are invented; the verdicts are ours, and they say skip where skip is the answer. Two in the province in the 2026 guide: Inkiostro in the city (tasting menus €130 to €180) and Antica Corte Pallavicina at Polesine Parmense (€150). Parizzi no longer holds a star. Four trattorie hold a Bib Gourmand: Brisla, I Tri Siochètt, Ai Due Platani and Antichi Sapori.

How much does dinner in Parma cost?

At a central trattoria, about €30 to €40 a head before wine: a pasta costs €11 to €14 and a main €12 to €26. Trattoria del Tribunale works out at about €80 for two. Most places add a cover charge of €1 to €4.

Where can I eat late in Parma?

Trattoria dei Corrieri serves from noon to midnight every day, with no afternoon break. Most other kitchens stop at 2:30 p.m. and at 10 or 10:30 p.m.

Is Angiol d'Or worth it for the view?

Only for a summer dinner on the piazza. Its anolini are €18 against €13 to €14 at Tribunale, Brisla and Ai Due Platani, and Michelin does not list it.
