What we collect
Nothing. Explore Parma has no analytics, no advertising tags, no tracking pixels or tracking scripts and no cookies, and there are no forms or accounts.

Because we collect no personal data, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Bylines and portraits
Our three writers, Giulia Conti, Marco Ferrante and Hannah Price, are editorial personas rather than photographed people, and their portraits were generated. The research, the sourcing and the arithmetic on their pages are real, and every figure links to where it came from. The editorial standards page has the rest.

Every photograph of a place on this site comes from Wikimedia Commons under a license that permits commercial use: public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA. Each row gives the image key the page uses, the Commons file, the author as Commons states it, the license, and a note wherever the picture is not of the exact thing the page is about.
60 pictures are not photographs
The three byline portraits show our writers, who are editorial personas rather than photographed people. The food and drink pictures are illustrations of dishes and drinks that the pages describe, made because no freely licensed photograph of them exists, and pages with no photograph of their own carry an illustration of their subject (a train window, a café table, a tasting board). No generated image on this site depicts a real place, building, room or business: every picture of somewhere in Parma is a real photograph taken by the person credited below.
