Ristorante Parizzi

Territory menu €55 a head Closed Thursday Strada della Repubblica 71

Ristorante Parizzi has cooked at Strada della Repubblica 71 since 1956, and the family's story starts with a trattoria in 1948. For years it was Parma's Michelin-starred address. That has changed. The 2026 Michelin Guide lists Parizzi without a star, in the €€ band, and the restaurant's own history page says the 2026 renovation means it "abandons fine dining to rediscover conviviality".

The new offer has three parts: a Parma-focused à la carte, a €55 tasting menu of local classics, and an aperitivo and degusteria on the ground floor from 6:30 p.m. New opening hours started on Monday, August 31, 2026, and the restaurant is now closed only on Thursday.

The €55 territory menu

The Degustazione del territorio is served to the whole table at €55 a head:

  1. Prosciutto di Parma aged 30 months and artisan salame.
  2. Tortelli d'erbetta alla parmigiana.
  3. Punta di vitello, slow-cooked, with roast potatoes.
  4. Parmigiano Reggiano at 18, 24 and 36 months.
  5. Zuppa inglese alla parmigiana.

Ordered à la carte, the same savory courses cost €54 before the cheese and dessert, so the menu is fair value if you want all five.

À la carte prices

  • Culatello di Zibello aged 26 months: €22. Prosciutto 30 months or salame: €18.
  • Tortelli d'erbetta: €16. Anolini in Parmigiano Reggiano cream: €18.
  • Punta di vitello: €20. Guinea fowl in a nut crust: €25.
  • Charcoal-grilled sea bass: €28. Irish ribeye: €35. Spaghetti with raw purple prawns: €28.
  • Desserts €10–€15, cover and bread €4.

The anolini here come in a Parmigiano cream rather than the usual broth. If you want the traditional anolini in brodo, order them elsewhere. The Michelin inspectors single out the grilled sea bass, which says something about where the kitchen's skill now shows.

The aperitivo downstairs

The ground floor now runs as Aperitivo e Degusteria every day except Thursday from 6:30 p.m.: cured meats and cheeses, wines chosen by sommelier Cristina Parizzi by the glass or bottle, sparkling wine and cocktails. Prices for the aperitivo are not published. It is a smarter alternative to the crowds on Strada Farini.

Three generations in one street

The family history explains the room. In 1948 Piero Parizzi opened a trattoria called Tiratardi on Via Bixio. In 1956 he moved to Strada della Repubblica and opened a delicatessen, with his wife Luigina cooking for workers in the back. Their son Ugo turned it into a proper restaurant in 1970, and it climbed into the national guides in the 1980s. Chef Marco Parizzi, the third generation, and his wife Cristina added a cooking school and rooms in 2007. The 2026 change is the family's own decision, in its words, to trade fine dining for conviviality.

Who it suits

Parizzi now suits travelers who want Parma's classics in a polished dining room without a trattoria's elbow-to-elbow tables, and at €55 it costs about the same as a full trattoria meal with wine. If you want a starred meal in the city, the only one in 2026 is Inkiostro. The family also runs Parizzi Suites & Studio, 13 apartments at the same address.
