Hotel Button is a 40-room three-star at Borgo della Salina 7, a lane off the north-east corner of Piazza Garibaldi. The square is about 140 m, a 2-minute walk. On Booking.com the cheapest public rate, an economy double with free cancellation, was €118 for October 14, 2026 and €78 for November 11. Breakfast is €9 per person extra.
For that price you give up two things. There is no car park at the hotel, so drivers pay €13 to €16 a day at a public garage 8 to 15 minutes away. And the economy double is the smallest room category; a superior double was €134 on October 14. For a couple travelling light by train, neither matters much.

What you get for the money
The hotel's own site lists single rooms for business travellers, standard doubles for couples, family rooms, and a larger superior room. There is free Wi-Fi throughout, a bar open 24 hours, a concierge and a small play corner for children in the lounge. The Cortesi family runs it.
Breakfast is cheap enough to take. At €9 per person it costs less than at any other hotel we checked: Hotel Stendhal charges €15 and Starhotels Du Parc €17. On November 11, the breakfast-included, non-refundable economy double was €86 against €78 room only.
Driving, the ZTL and where to park
Borgo della Salina is in the isola ambientale around Strada Farini, where the city's 2024 ordinance bans unauthorized cars 24 hours a day. The hotel says all its guests may drive through the ZTL to load and unload luggage, provided they give reception their plate number promptly at check-in. It also warns that its cover does not extend to other pedestrian areas or to bus lanes, and that it cannot help with fines from those. The hotel's driving directions bring you in along Viale Mariotti and Strada Mazzini, then right into Borgo San Vitale opposite the hotel.
Once unloaded, park in a public garage. The hotel's own recommendations and prices:
- Parcheggio Goito, Via Goito 1: 8 minutes on foot, €16 per 24 hours.
- Parcheggio Toschi, Viale IV Novembre side: 15 minutes, €16 per 24 hours.
- Central Parking Repubblica, Via Emilia Est 7B: 15 minutes, €13 per 24 hours.

You are between the civic square and Strada Farini, the aperitivo street. That is ideal for evenings out. Evening foot traffic heads past toward the bars, so light sleepers should ask for a room away from the lane.
Who it suits
Budget-minded couples, solo travellers and families on foot who want to be in the middle of things. It is also a good base for the evening aperitivo walk.
Choose Hotel Torino instead if you want a bookable garage in the centre, or Hotel Daniel if free parking matters more than the view from your door.
