Food Valley day tour

Prices are GetYourGuide "from" prices on its German-language Parma page, which shows euros, read on September 29, 2026. Tour pages rarely name the dairy or ham house in advance.

1. 10:30 a.m. Salumificio Conti, near Langhirano (about 24 km from the center): 75-minute tour and tasting, €26, car or taxi only. In October 2026 its calendar offers this one slot on 15 dates, none on Sundays. See the prosciutto house page.
2. 12:30 p.m. Caseificio Ugolotti, Via Emilio Lepido 72, Parma: English tour with tasting, €23, 1.5 hours. You see the aging rooms, not cheesemaking. See our dairy visit page.
3. Lunch at the dairy or back in town.
4. Afternoon: Acetaia Malpighi, near the Modena Sud motorway exit: free tour and tasting, book 48 hours ahead. See balsamic tasting.

Why not the dairy at 9 a.m. first? Ugolotti's cheesemaking visit ends at 10:30, the moment Conti starts, and Langhirano is 30 minutes away. To see curd being cut and the ham house, split them over two mornings.

Admission total: €49 per person, €98 for two. A hire car cost from €39 for 24 hours on Kayak (October 14 to 15, 2026, searched September 29), from a desk on Via La Spezia; Europcar on Strada dei Mercati 3 started at €46. There is no rental desk at the station. Our do you need a car page covers fuel and the ZTL fines to avoid. Mind that Conti is a car-only site, and that Parma to Modena is about 50 minutes' drive (61 km).

• You have no car and do not want to drive Italian country roads. Of the three direct stops, only Ugolotti lists a city bus; Conti says car or taxi only.
• You are one person. A hire car for one erodes most of the saving.
• You want a guide who explains all three products in English and handles the timing.

When it does not: two or more people with a car, anyone who wants to buy at the dairy shop without a van waiting, and anyone who would rather spend the €120 difference on dinner at Antica Corte Pallavicina.

• Lunch: ParmaLook's three-stop tour does not include it. Food Valley Travel's does (light lunch).
• Live production: only morning dairy visits show cheesemaking. A 10 a.m. start may reach the dairy after the curd is out.
• Cancellation: Food Valley Travel charges nothing up to 8 days before, then 50%, 70% and 100% as the date nears.
• Customs: tours stop at shops. Americans can take cheese home but not ham; Britons can take neither. Rules are on the Parmigiano and prosciutto pages.
