Start with the degustazione di salumi e culatello at €14, or the culatello di Zibello DOP on its own, also €14. Add torta fritta at €4.50 to eat with it. Prosciutto di Parma from Leporati is €11, coppa and salame di Felino €10 each.

For pasta, the degustazione di tortelli at €13 lets you try several fillings on one plate. The single versions are tortelli d'erbetta (€11), pumpkin (€11) and ricotta with spalla cotta (€12). Anolini in brodo are €13. Tagliolini al culatello are €15.

This is one of the central places that keeps horse on the menu. Pesto di cavallo, raw or seared, is €12. Vecchia di cavallo, the stewed horse-and-vegetable dish, is €16. If you do not eat horse, the punta di vitello ripiena (stuffed veal breast) is €17 and pork cheeks in balsamic vinegar are €16.

• Rosa di Parma (pork fillet with Parmigiano and prosciutto): €29.

The Rosa di Parma is the one price that looks out of line. Two pasta plates cost less.

The menu has no desserts listed on its digital version at the time of checking, so plan on coffee elsewhere or ask what the kitchen has that day.
