Angiol d'Or

Tables facing the Duomo Primi €14–€20, secondi €20–€24 Closed Sun evening and Monday

Angiol d'Or sits on Piazza Duomo, with its entrance at Vicolo Scutellari 1. From the tables you look at the Cathedral and Antelami's Baptistery. No other restaurant in Parma has that position, and the prices reflect it.

Giorgio Ferrari and his family have run it since 2012, and chef Morgan Berardi has led the kitchen since March 2024. The menu mixes Parma staples with seafood and modern plates. It opens Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and on Sunday for lunch only, and closes on Sunday evening and Monday.

What it costs

From the menu on the restaurant's website, checked September 29, 2026:

  • Parma salumi board (prosciutto 30 months, coppa, salame di Felino): €18.
  • Culatello di Zibello from Podere Cadassa: €20.
  • Torta fritta to go with it: €5.
  • Warm spalla cotta with aubergine and milk rolls: €19.
  • Tortelli d'erbetta: €14. Anolini in beef and capon broth: €18.
  • Duchessa di Parma (veal with Marsala sauce): €20. Sea bass: €22. Foie gras: €24.
  • Desserts €8–€10, tiramisù €9.

A pasta, a main and a shared board comes to about €50 a head before wine.

The view premium

Compare the two pasta dishes everyone orders. Anolini in brodo are €18 here, €13 at Trattoria del Tribunale and €14 at Ai Due Platani. Tortelli d'erbetta are €14 here and €11 at Tribunale. The difference is the piazza. Angiol d'Or does not appear in the 2026 Michelin Guide, while several cheaper trattorie do.

Where to sit

There are three spaces. The inner room is small and has a Duomo view. The veranda is a larger glassed dehors used for groups and events. In summer, tables go out on Piazza Duomo itself for dinner. If you book, ask for the piazza or a window; a table at the back of the veranda defeats the point of paying the premium.

A cheaper way to get the view

The piazza is public. See the Cathedral and Baptistery lit at dusk on a walk through the Duomo quarter, then walk about ten minutes to Osteria del 36, where TheFork puts dinner at about €30 a head.

If you do go: what to order

The kitchen makes everything in house, from long-rising bread and fresh pasta to desserts, according to the restaurant. The plates that justify the price are the ones you will not find at a trattoria: fassona beef tartare with green apple, soft yolk and hazelnuts (€19), squid "tagliatella" with lemon caviar and cuttlefish ink (€19), and cavatelli with yellow tomatoes, mullet bottarga and almonds (€20). A plate of Parmigiano Reggiano aged 30 months from the San Bernardino dairy, with house jam, is €11.

Vegetarians have more choice than usual: zucchini flan with yogurt (€17), herb fregola with robiola (€17), and a three-tomato Carnaroli risotto with provola (€19), plus the two tortelli. The family also runs a room and breakfast, Casa Angiol d'Or.
